After a small foray into the world of Third-Party Masterpiece figures, TFC Toys has returned to their roots and are once again focused on creating Classic-esque combiners. These recently released prototype pictures from their Hades project feature TFC’s take on the final members of the Japanese Victory combiner group Liokaiser.
The newest figures Hypnos (Drillhorn) and Aiakos (Gaihawk) are a follow up to their recently released and rather well received, Minos (Hellbat) and Thanatos (Killbison). All of the figures from this project retain their classic G1 alt modes as well as feature their Breastforce partners, which function as breastplates and/or weapons for the robot-modes or alternatively as animal compatriots.
This project also includes a throwback to the original G1 figure by limiting the combiner kibble through integrated combiner feet and combiner hands that serve a dual function as weapons pods for the jets.
We currently don’t have an announced release date for these last two figures, but in the meantime, the first two figures for the Hades project have been released and are currently available from a number of our site sponsors. If you haven’t jumped into this project yet, you may want to consider it as it looks to be shaping up nicely.
