We have a happy news for the Sri Lankan Transformers Fans. It’s very rare to hear a Transformers related news from the country even though the Michael Bay Transformers Live Action Movies are the highest grossing movies in the country’s history.
Transformers: Prime (ට්රාන්ස්ෆොර්මර්ස්: ප්රයිම්) is now airing on Derana Junior dubbed in Sinhala (native language of Sri Lanka). The new show marks an important milestone as it is the first Transformers show to air after 15 years. It also becomes the first Transformers show to be dubbed in Sinhala.
Transformers G1 was broadcasted in Sri Lanka back in 1993 followed by Transformers: Beast Machines in 2000. This is the third Transformers TV Show to air in the country.
TFW2005 learned that the first episode was met with overwhelming enthusiasm and positive feedback.
The franchise caught the attention of the Sri Lankan general audience thanks to the Transformers Live Action Movies which became an instant hit and a household name. This helped the Transformers toy sales in the country for Hasbro. A TF show, albeit 4 years old, in Sri Lanka also means that Hasbro is expanding into the markets of Developing Countries.
Transformers: Prime will air on Weekdays at 5:00PM Local Time on Derana (Junior slot) starting from 9th November. Check out the commercial for the show, after the jump.
