IDW have partnered with the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in San Diego for a series of events looking at the art, science and technology of IDW’s comics. Topics covered included:
- How do artists create the artwork? How do writers develop the stories?
- Are they communicating realistic scientific concepts?
- Could they even be predicting what’s to come in science and technology?
The events are set to be held at the San Diego Comic Art Gallery in Liberty Station, and will take the form of short talks from the artists, writers, and also local scientists. The events are ages 21 and over, as alcoholic beverages in the form of local brews are set to be served. There are four events in total, with the event on Transformers and the science of robotics on the cards for April 22. The full event lineup is as follows:
- April 22: Transformers, Rom, Micronauts and the Science of Robotics
- June 10: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Godzilla and the Science of Mutations
- August 12: Star Trek and the Science of Space Travel
- October 14: Orphan Black and the Science of Cloning
For more information, including details of how to register for the events, please see the Reuben H Fleet Science Center’s events page.
